Dealer program

Become a SolarShield awning dealer

SolarShield manufactures in Connecticut and supplies its dealers. We take orders from dealers rather than from homeowners, there is no consumer price list, and homeowner inquiries that reach us are referred out to a dealer.

The arrangement

We make it. You sell it, install it, and own the customer.

Dealers ask first how the manufacturer handles the channel. Here: orders come from dealers, there is no consumer price list for a homeowner to find, and homeowner inquiries that reach us are referred out. Territory is agreed dealer by dealer — ask what applies to yours and get it in the agreement.

What we do instead is build the product, train your people on it, quote lead times honestly, and answer the phone when something needs sorting.

  • No consumer price list and no factory-direct ordering
  • Inquiries we receive are referred to the dealer covering that territory
  • Training before your first order ships
  • Direct access to the people who built the awning

Dealer pricing across the line, discussed on the first call rather than after a sales sequence.

Is it a fit?

Who this works for

Stated plainly, so neither of us wastes a call.

A good fit

  • You install — awnings, canvas, glass, sunrooms, decks, or exteriors
  • You hold the licenses and insurance your state requires
  • You have an install crew, or you install the work yourself, and you stand behind it
  • You want one manufacturer to cover retractable, screen, and fixed canopy work
  • You would rather sell a domestically manufactured line than the cheapest available import

Not a fit

  • Drop-shippers and online-only resellers with no install capability
  • Anyone looking to buy a single awning for their own property
  • Territories where we already have a dealer covering the work well

Buying for your own home or business? SolarShield supplies dealers rather than taking consumer orders. Call(800) 723-7048 and we will help you find a dealer in your area.

Dealer questions

The things dealers actually ask

Does SolarShield compete with its own dealers?

SolarShield takes orders from its dealers rather than from homeowners or businesses, and there is no consumer price list to order from. Homeowner inquiries that reach us are referred out to a dealer. What is guaranteed in writing is set out in the dealer agreement — ask us to walk you through the territory terms before you commit, and get them in the agreement rather than on a phone call.

Is there an exclusive territory?

Territory is agreed case by case, based on where you already work and who is already covering it. It is part of the first conversation rather than a surprise later.

What does it cost to become a dealer?

Wholesale pricing, minimums, and terms are discussed directly — they depend on the lines you carry and the volume you expect. Call (800) 723-7048 or apply and we will walk you through it.

Do I need to carry all seven product lines?

No. Many dealers start with the retractable lines — Legend and Salute — and add Freedom screens, Liberty, or Frontier canopies as the work comes up.

How long does production take?

Lead times depend on the line, the fabric, and the season. We quote them honestly on the order rather than promising a number we cannot hold in peak season.

What support do I get after the sale?

A direct line to our team for measuring questions, install issues, parts, and warranty claims. You are talking to the people who built the awning.

Tell us where you work.

Five minutes on the application, then a real conversation about territory, pricing, and lead times.
