Awning fabrics, motorization & options

Hundreds of fabrics from five mills, motorization and sensors, integrated lighting, custom graphics, and powder-coated finishes — so the quote fits the building rather than the building fitting the quote.

Fabric

Five mills your customers already trust

We name them because it matters to the sale. A customer weighing two quotes recognizes Sunbrella, and a dealer should not have to explain who wove the cloth.

Sunbrella

Sunbrella is the best-known performance awning fabric brand in the US market.

Dickson

Dickson is a French mill with an extensive awning and solar-protection range.

Sattler

Sattler is an Austrian mill known for solution-dyed acrylic awning fabric.

Tempotest

Tempotest is an Italian mill with a wide pattern and color range.

Recasens

Recasens is a Spanish mill supplying solution-dyed acrylic for shade applications.

100% solution-dyed acrylic options are available on the Salute line. Solution-dyed means the pigment is added before the fiber is extruded rather than applied to finished cloth, which is what helps it hold color in direct sun.

Fabric books, color cards, and current availability come with your dealer account — ranges change by season and by mill, so we would rather hand you the live book than publish a list that goes stale.

Sun & wind sensors

Sensors extend the awning on sun and retract it on wind. Worth quoting on every motorized job — it is the option that protects the product between visits.

Integrated LED arms

Common questions

Fabric & options

Which fabric brands does SolarShield offer?

Sunbrella, Dickson, Sattler, Tempotest, and Recasens. The Salute line also offers select 100% solution-dyed acrylic options. Fabric books and current color cards come with your dealer account, because ranges change by season and by mill.

Are SolarShield awnings motorized?

Freedom screens and sidewalls are offered with crank or motorized operation, including Intro or Somfy motor options where applicable. Liberty offers optional remote operation. For the retractable awning lines, ask us to confirm motorization on your order — availability is not published per line.

What do sun and wind sensors do?

A sun sensor extends the awning when the sun is on the elevation; a wind sensor retracts it automatically when wind picks up. Wind is the most common cause of damage to a lateral-arm awning, so the sensor protects the assembly between visits.

Can a business put its logo on the awning?

Yes, on the Liberty commercial line, which supports custom fabric colors, lettering, logos, and graphics. Legend supports custom colors, fabric selection, and branded designs.

What does solution-dyed acrylic mean?

The pigment is added before the fiber is extruded rather than applied to finished cloth, which is what helps the fabric hold its color in direct sun.
